Utrogestan available for HRT

Utrogestan (progesterone) is a progestogen indicated for the adjunctive use with oestrogen in postmenopausal women with an intact uterus.

The recommended dose is 200mg daily at bedtime, for 12 days, from day 15 to day 26 of each cycle. Withdrawal bleeding may occur in the following week.

Alternatively 100mg can be given at bedtime from day one to day 25 of each cycle, withdrawal bleeding being less with this treatment schedule.
