Oral diclofenac switched to POM

Oral formulations of diclofenac are no longer available to buy over the counter.

The MHRA made the switch from P to POM as a result of the small increased risk of serious cardiac side effects associated with the drug, particularly with high-dose and/or long-term use.

Topical formulations of diclofenac continue to be available without a prescription.
