Non-latex contraceptive diaphragms introduced

Durbin has introduced two silicone, non-latex contraceptive diaphragms. Both products have gained Drug Tariff approval and may be prescribed at NHS expense.

Arcing, an arcing spring diaphragm, and Omniflex, a coil spring diaphragm are both hypo-allergenic, do not discolour, do not pick up odours and may be boiled or autoclaved.

Each diaphragm is available in sizes 60 to 90 mm rising in 5 mm steps. The basic NHS price for each is £8.35.
