New topical antifungal for vaginal candidiasis

Gynoxin (fenticonazole) is a new antifungal for the treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis. The range comprises two strengths of vaginal capsule and a vaginal cream.

Fenticonazole nitrate is a broad-spectrum antimycotic agent with fungicidal activity against Candida albicans.

The capsules should be inserted high into the vagina at night and the cream applied intravaginally twice daily. The 600mg capsule is a single dose preparation; the 200mg capsules are given for 3 days.
