New Solostar insulin pens

SoloStar is a new pre-filled, disposable insulin pen available containing insulin glargine (Lantus) and insulin glulisine (Apidra).

Lantus SoloStar and Apidra SoloStar provide insulin in single-unit increments, up to a maximum of 80 units. The manufacturer, Sanofi-Aventis, claims that SoloStar reduces the force required to release the insulin, thereby making the injection smoother. A pack of five Lantus SoloStar 3ml pens is £42.00 and five Apidra SoloStar 3ml pens is £25.00.
