Sanofi has notified healthcare professionals that Mucodyne Paediatric (carbocisteine) 125mg/ml oral solution will no longer be available from the end of April 2015, owing to manufacturing difficulties.

The 250mg/5ml syrup remains available and may be used as an alternative if the required dose can be given with this concentration (prescribers are advised to use an oral dosing syringe if necessary).
