Malarone generic launched

A generic equivalent of Malarone (atovaquone/proguanil) is now available.

Malaria is a protozoan disease caused by the genus Plasmodium, which is transmitted by the female Anopheles mosquito (pictured) | SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY

It is licensed for the prophylaxis and treatment of acute uncomplicated P. falciparum malaria in adults and children over 11kg.
