Both DuoTrav and Travatan (travoprost) are now free of benzalkonium chloride

DuoTrav (timolol + travoprost) has been relaunched as a benzalkonium-chloride-free preparation. The glaucoma eye drops now contain the alternative preservative polyquaternium (Polyquad®), which is believed to be less damaging to the ocular surface than benzalkonium chloride. They are prescribed in the same way as before, and the pack sizes and prices remain the same.
