Dose timing of Transtec extended

New data have revealed that Transtec, Napp's transdermal buprenorphine patches, continue to release the analgesic for up to 96 hours instead of up to 72 hours as previously thought.

For convenience, it is recommended that Transtec patches are changed twice per week at regular intervals, for example Monday mornings and Thursday evenings.

Since Transtec patches do not have to be changed so frequently, the pack size of all three strengths - 35, 52.5 and 70 micrograms per hour has been reduced from five to four patches.
