BCG vaccine supply temporarily on hold

Public Health England has reported delays with the supply of BCG vaccine.

Ordering of BCG vaccine through ImmForm is temporarily suspended until mid-June.

The limited stock should be prioritised for:

PHE prescribing advice 

  • infants aged 0—12 months
  • children aged 1—5 years - particularly if they are contacts of active cases
  • other risk groups under 16 years.

Use for occupational health reasons should be given a low priority, and use in travellers over 16 years given lowest priority.
