Allergan launches Ganfort for glaucoma

Allergan has launched Ganfort, a combination of its prostaglandin analogue bimatoprost and the beta-blocker timolol, for the reduction of intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension who are insufficiently responsive to topical beta-blockers or prostaglandin analogues.

The two components of Ganfort reduce elevated IOP by complementary mechanisms and the combined effect results in additional intraocular pressure reduction compared with either agent administered alone.

Ganfort is presented in 3ml bottles, available singly or in packs of three at a cost of £14.58 and £37.59, respectively.

Further information: Allergan Ltd, 1st Floor, Marlow International, The Parkway, Marlow, Buckinghamshire SL7 1YL. Tel: (01628) 494026.
