Sandoglobulin: transfer patients to liquid formulation as soon as possible

Patients currently being treated with Sandoglobulin (human normal immunoglobulin) powder for solution for infusion should be transferred to Sandoglobulin NF Liquid (solution for infusion) as soon as is practically possible.

Sandoglobulin NF Liquid is available as a 12% solution in 6g/50ml and 12g/100ml presentations at a cost of £186.36 and £372.72, respectively.

In addition to being more convenient than the powdered formulation, the liquid offers improved safety by virtue of its three-stage pathogen inactivation process during manufacture, low IgA levels and being free from carbohydrate stabilisers.

Sandoglobulin powder for solution for infusion 1g, 6g and 12g has been discontinued.
