Panadol OA, first 1g paracetamol tablet

GlaxoSmithKline has launched Panadol OA tablets containing 1g paracetamol for the management of mild to moderate pain including osteoarthritis. Panadol OA is a prescription-only medicine and the only 1g preparation of paracetamol available in the UK.

The maximum daily dose remains the same at 4g, to be taken in four divided doses at least four hours apart.

Panadol OA reduces the tablet burden for patients and may help improve compliance.
