Once-daily modified-release oxycodone launched

A once-daily prolonged-release oxycodone tablet, Onexila XL, is now available for the treatment of severe pain that can only be managed with opioid analgesics.

Onexila XL provides the equivalent oxycodone dose to existing twice-daily modified-release tablets in half the number of doses. It is intended to help reduce pill burden for patients and healthcare professionals administering the medications.

Available in 10mg, 20mg, 40mg and 80mg tablets, Onexila XL is the first once-daily modified-release oxycodone formulation to become available in the UK.
