The next print issue of MIMS will be March 2014, to be followed by issues in June, September and December. The MIMS website will continue to be updated on a monthly basis, as will the award-winning MIMS app.
This change is in response to extensive reader research which showed that the majority of GPs no longer felt the need for monthly MIMS updates in print given the expanding portfolio of MIMS digital products, including the website, email bulletins and app.
The quarterly print edition will contain all of the sections previously featured in the monthly editions, and all updates made online during each three-month period.
All NHS GPs and MIMS subscribers are entitled to free access to mims.co.uk, including the full MIMS drug database. GPs can obtain access by completing the simple one-off registration form at www.mims.co.uk/subscribe. Subscribers who are unsure of their login details can email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01604 828702.
Both mims.co.uk and the MIMS app are fully searchable by brand and generic name, drug class and manufacturer and feature exclusive digital content including printable patient factsheets (website only), product information for dressings, clinical calculators and prescribing information for many specialist drugs.
The publishers of MIMS are planning further expansion and improvement of the digital products in 2014, to make it even easier for GPs to stay up to date with prescribing practice in the UK. This includes continuous updates to the drug database so users always have access to the latest prescribing information.
