Diovan for paediatric use

Diovan (valsartan) 40mg and 320mg tablets have had their licences extended to include treatment of hypertension in children and adolescents, 6 to 18 years of age.

Use of Diovan for this indication is extensively monitored by the Commission on Human Medicines (CHM) and the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and any adverse reactions should be reported when prescribed to children or adolescents with hypertension.
