Vaccinations

Typhoid
Consider immunisation depending on lifestyle, length of stay and activities.

Hepatitis A
Immunisation recommended.

Diphtheria
Consider immunisation for high risk travellers only, eg, health/teaching work, rural and long stay travellers.

Hepatitis B
Consider immunisation for high risk travellers only, eg, health/teaching work, rural and long stay travellers.

Yellow fever
Certificate of immunisation compulsory if arriving from an infected area.
- applies to children over 6 months. WHO do not recommend vaccination in children under 9 months. An exemption certificate can be supplied if appropriate.

Tetanus
After a full primary course of tetanus, booster doses are only recommended for travellers whose last dose of tetanus was more than 10 years ago, and are travelling to countries where medical facilities may be poor and the tetanus immunoglobulin may not be available.
