National Poisons Information Service

The four centres of the National Poisons Information Service (Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Newcastle) provide a year-round, 24-hour information service for health care staff on the diagnosis, treatment and management of poisoning.

The information is provided online (TOXBASE) and by telephone.

Use as the primary source of information for the routine diagnosis, treatment and management of patients suffering from exposure to a wide range of substances and products. Information provided is sufficient to cope with most cases of poisoning.
